China comes to Heathlands Academy
20th October 2014
The children at Heathlands have been learning about China and experienceing chinese culture.
Global development is an important aspect of learning at Heathlands Academy. Each year they focus on a country where the school has an educational link.
This year Heathlands have been working with Shanghai International School. Children have written to pen pals there and comparisons have been made about education, lifestyle and culture in each country.
The children were able to experience a wide range of different instruments and performed a dragon dance during a Chinese music making session.
Performers from the Chinese State Circus shared their skills in using Diablo’s, ribbons, Chinese spinning cloths and martial arts. The children have learnt a lot about China and are producing some wonderful displays around school.
