ACE Pupils “Shake the Shirt”
19th November 2015
On Sunday 25th October 2015 30 staff and students travelled to Welford Road home of the Leicester Tigers to be part of the 'Shake the Shirt experience'. For many this was the first time that they had experienced a premiership Rugby event and with many of the England players back in action following their World Cup campaign there were many familiar faces on the pitch for both Leicester and Harlequins such as Tom Youngs, Dan Cole, Tom Croft, Joe Marler, Danny Care and Mike Brown to name but a few.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to get up close and personal with players on pitch side as they warmed up and made their way out onto the field of play to the sound of Smoke on the Water and with the support of the home crowd with ACE students at the heart of it all shaking the club emblem.
Students and staff then took to their seats to soak up the atmosphere and watch a thrilling match of end to end Rugby with try after try for both teams and some ferocious tackling on display. A truly inspirational day for all that attended topped off with members of the crowd sat near us commending the students on their behaviour and politeness - A proud moment for teachers and students alike.
An ACE day out with some ACE students and Staff.
