Outline of HR Service

ECMAT Academies will be provided with a high quality, cost effective and comprehensive HR Service delivered by qualified professionals. We strive to operate at the highest standards of professional competency, conduct and confidentiality and to provide advice and assistance in accordance with the requirements of all relevant education and employment legislation.  The service is very much designed to meet the needs of individual Academies, we fully appreciate that there are times when an Academy will need additional support and strive to ensure that these needs are met.

Our core HR services include:

HR Advice

Professional and efficient telephone and e-mail advice for day-to-day HR queries in line with employment legislation. 

Policy and Procedure

Interpretation and advice on policy, procedure and the law relating to the management of disciplinary, capability, grievance, sickness absence, restructuring and redundancy including advice on resolution and the structure for meetings.

Employee Relations

Advice and support on employee relations and industrial relations matters including trade union involvement and consultation.

Managing Change

Supporting change processes which may include preparing for and implementing proposals for new staffing structures.

Employee Fitness

Liaising with Occupational Health Practitioners to enable the progress of individual cases.

Recruitment & Selection

Advice and guidance on the recruitment, selection and appointment of teaching and non-teaching staff including safer recruitment and special circumstances effecting the recruitment of staff including the right to work in the UK. 
Developing contracts of employment and offer letters for Academy staff including variations to all types of contracts.

Managing Absence

Providing advice and support in managing short term and long term sickness absence, including outcomes from Occupational Health Referrals

Support can be provided on more complex matters if required, which will be provided on an individual consultancy basis. 

Quality Assurance/Feedback

We welcome and appreciate your feedback and will seek this on a regular basis to ensure we continue to develop the HR service to meet your needs.  Should you wish to give any feedback or raise concerns please address to the Director of HR in the first instance.  In the unlikely event that, following liaison with the HR Director your issue has not been resolved to your satisfaction please contact the Academies Director.
